Genesis Research Trust, founded by Lord Professor Robert Winston in 1978, is the largest collaboration of reproductive health researchers in the UK. We fund life-saving research into female infertility, miscarriage, late pregnancy loss, preterm labour and stillbirth. We have strong ties with the faculty of medicine at Imperial College London, and are based in the Institute of Reproductive and Developmental Biology (IRDB) at Imperial College’s, Hammersmith Hospital Campus.
Role
A unique charity positioned right at the heart of original, cutting-edge medical research, we are currently looking to appoint an ambitious Challenge Events Leader.  This role will be central to the ongoing development of our diverse portfolio of events, which includes our own bespoke overseas challenges such as Cycle Andalucía 2020 and Cycle Northern Vietnam 2020 and a range of third-party events including Nightrider, the Great North Run and Ride London 100.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced events professional to join our growing team of dedicated fundraisers. It is a great time to be joining Genesis Research Trust.

  • Our IRDB building is about to celebrate its 20th anniversary
  • Our scientific research is consistently on the cusp of breakthroughs
  • We have a strong track record of success
  • We regularly welcome new supporters, donors and partners
  • Trustees are highly involved in our projects and supportive of our fundraising goals
  • We have doubled staff numbers in the last 12 months as part of our ambitious growth
  • Our social media influence is expanding its reach

This role is for someone who can manage and further develop our Challenge Events programme as well as other stewardship events in prestigious venues celebrating and thanking our event participants. The successful candidate will have the ability to build new relationships with potential corporate sponsors and will play a pivotal role in supporting and growing the ‘Genesis community’, which includes many individuals who have struggled with infertility and baby loss.  You will have a strong track record of Challenge Events Leadership, and demonstrable experience of relationship management.

This role presents a truly unique opportunity to work with a globally renowned research charity.  It is also a great platform for a dynamic Challenge Events Leader to be creative and take on responsibility for strategic oversight of operational execution of the Challenge Events programme – and to take part in our bespoke challenges!
