Despite the loss of various exciting challenges from this year’s calendar, including the long-anticipated Cycle Northern Vietnam, our fantastic supporters remain active.
August saw the first ever virtual edition of Prudential RideLondon cycle; My Prudential RideLondon which took place on the weekend of 15th and 16th August. Sally Cassidy, Sam Hallett, Elizabeth Begley, Nancy Lee and Maria Moore were ready to take up the challenge; cycling the circumference of the Isle of Wight in one day!
“5 of us started, only 2 finished and we had 1 puncture… “It was 62 miles of sogginess and very hilly! Must be mad! I had wanted to do this ride for over 2 years, but it was difficult to get away. I put on WhatsApp that I’d like to do it, and not only did I get company on the ride, we also had an amazing place to stay curtesy of Maria (with the dog). She cooked as a BBQ as well! …We ran out of water, but found a man parking his ice cream van for the day, who sold us a drink. Thank goodness he did, because there was a huge hill around the corner!”

At the same time Caroline Lee clocked up the miles back in London, despite not being able to join her teammates in the Isle of Wight. You can support Caroline via her Virgin Money Giving page.
We are so grateful to Sally, Samantha, Elizabeth, Nancy, Maria and Caroline aka #TeamGenesis for embracing this challenge so enthusiastically!
