Online Meeting to support Perinatal Mental Health

15th June 2021, 13:45 – 17:00 BST

Begin Before Birth: Emotional Wellbeing During Pregnancy and Beyond is a public online conference, in which experts will discuss how expectant mothers can maintain the best possible mental health.

The session is chaired by Prof. Vivette Glover, Professor of Perinatal Psychobiology at Imperial College London and Dr Alain Gregoire, Honorary President of Maternal Mental Health Alliance UK and a presenter of BBC2’s Trust Me I’m a Doctor.

One in five women are affected by perinatal mental health problems. The current pandemic places further strain on all of us. There is great scope to improve our emotional wellbeing. Begin Before Birth comprises talks that help you to understand and approach these mental health matters.

For 30 years, the Symposium Office at Genesis Research Trust has run meetings for academics and clinicians, sharing the latest findings in O&G and neonatology. For the last two years, out conferences have been web-streamed to allow global access to the latest research. Begin Before Birth 2021 is our first conference that is designed for both public as well as healthcare professionals.

Registration for the conference is just £15, and £5 for attendees from lower- to middle-income countries. This also gives delegates access to the recording of the presentations and a list of charities that can provide further supporting information.

Proceeds from our events fund life-changing research into miscarriage, stillbirth, preterm birth, and reproductive cancers, to provide the scientific basis for tests and treatments.

Everyone is welcome!
